Why we Pray

Real relationship requires real intimacy, and prayer is where that intimacy begins. Through prayer, we draw near to God, aligning our hearts with His will and unlocking the power of heaven on earth. It’s the language of our faith, bringing vision to the unseen and producing peace and strength we need in every moment.

Prayer sharpens our Faith

Prayer creates deeper intimacy with God

Prayer is powerful and brings about change.

Why we fast

Fasting, as taught in the Bible, is willingly abstaining from food to seek God. It creates space to grow closer to Him, align our hearts with His, and depend on His strength. Modeled by Jesus, fasting is a spiritual discipline focused on intentionality— inviting God into the spaces we create. Through fasting, we can amplify our prayers and experience deeper intimacy with Him.

how to fast

When starting a fast it’s important that you do so safely and with wisdom. Please consult a doctor before fasting if you have any health concerns.

A traditional fast looks like abstaining from food between certain hours of the day. However, your fast may look different to this. Fasting could look like just missing one meal a day and setting that time aside to be present with God through prayer.

While a traditional fast is the denial of food, you may choose to abstain from something else instead. This might be something like technology or social media. The idea of fasting is that we would deny ourself of something we use regularly that will allow us to spend more time in prayer to God.

Getting in God’s word is another great use of the time that you would otherwise be using eating, or on social media etc. This again makes way for us to be able to hear from God.
